views on what matters are of importance to them, and then inter relates
it with the Millennium Development Goals. This helps to ensure
community ownership and sustainability.
Using the Audio Studio at OneWorld South Asia, Grassroots Ccommunications has conducted the following 10 community radio training workshops:
Workshop on 8-10 September 2005
Workshop on 4 - 6 October 2005
Workshop on 5 - 7 December 2005
Workshop on 12-15 December 2005
Workshop on 16-18 January 2006
Workshop on 12th- 14th December 2006
Workshop on 22-23 January 2007
Building upon the training received, a bank of over 50 Radio Programmes have been developed individually by Partner and non Partner Communities. This indicates the felt need at the grassroots communities level to communicate using Community Radio which is the simplest and least costly means. These programmes are both narrowcast and broadcast through Jamia Millia University, Indian Institute of Mass Communication. Imminent in the process is the start that is being done with Gyan Vani.
